We support and encourage a personal professional development programme as policy both for our consultants and skilled tree surgery operatives. We are based in Brynmawr & Blackwood (South Wales) & provide skilled work opportunities for local people of all ages.
Health and Safety is paramount, and the company received its Work Safe Certificate awards for both tree surgery and consultancy through the SMAS and SSIP scheme for the fourth consecutive year. We are also listed on Constructionline.

Steve has responded to the numerous queries and works required for this (Wenvoe) site in an efficient manner. Works range from pre-planning advice on managing and retaining trees on site, to securing permissions necessary for the works and then undertaking the tree works in a safe manner

Practice Manager & Principal Arboricultural Consultant (Managing Director)
Steve is a highly qualified arboriculturalist with 40+ years’ experience in the industry, 19 years of which were spent in Local Government as a Principal Arboricultural and Woodlands Officer. Steve holds the following relevant qualifications:
a) Certificate in Arboriculture (Royal Forestry Society)
b) Professional Technician in Arboriculture (Arboricultural Association) – Level 4
c) Professional Diploma in Arboriculture (Royal Forestry Society) – Level 6
d) Fellow Member of the Arboricultural Association.
Head of Arboricultural & Woodland Consultancy (Director)
Vaughan has worked within the arboricultural and forestry sectors for 25+ years, most recently as the Ancient Woodland Restoration Officer for the Woodland Trust and prior to that, as the Principal Arboricultural and Woodlands Officer for a local authority. Vaughan holds the following qualifications: –
a) Professional Technician in Arboriculture – (Arboricultural Association) – Level 4
b) Professional Tree Inspector Certificate (Lantra Awards)
c) Landscape Science, Higher National Diploma -Distinction. (Pencoed College & University of Glamorgan)
d) Woodland Management, National Diploma – Distinction (Hereford College of Agriculture)

Work Operations Manager (Director)
With 11 years’ experience, Scott’s responsibilities include the day to day running and work programming for all the arboricultural contracting teams. He undertakes all pricing responsibilities for arboricultural related contracting.
He is currently a Level 1 Tree Inspector (LANTRA); Level 2 Diploma in Arboriculture and is presently working towards Level 4 – Diploma in Arboriculture, through a structured learning programme.
Technical Manager (Director)
With 11 years’ experience, a fully qualified climber and Level 1 Tree Inspector (LANTRA) and is presently working towards Level 4 – Technician’s Certificate in Arboriculture. NPTC City & Guilds Level 3 assessor in ground based chainsaw operations. Leigh has the task of providing all in-house/external training for staff.
He is fully qualified in all aspects of tree surgery operations including rigging. Responsible, for all LOLER equipment testing and recording to comply with the Health and Safety Regulations, in respect of Working at Height Regulations. He plans and supervises all working at height operations and monitors progress, safety and training needs. Leigh is also responsible for Japanese knotweed treatment, chemical spraying and the maintenance and storage of pesticides under COSHH.

Mitchell Lewis & Callum Evans – Tree Team Leaders
Continuing the family theme, Mitchell Lewis has joined the business, and through his training programme and dedication has become a Team Leader and climber along with Callum Evans.
Currently they hold the following competence certificates and are working towards many others – First aid; Basic chainsaw; Medium diameter tree felling; Tree climbing & rescue; Use of chainsaw in a tree; Safe use of Woodchipper.
